A product and marketing executive with more than 15 years’ experience in the internet and software industry, Mark has a track record of success in leading high growth companies. This has included managing and hiring a team of product managers, and building services for salesforce.com’s flagship product, Sales Cloud – generating over $1billion in yearly revenue. In addition, Mark launched the financial services vertical for salesforce.com. Most recently, Mark has been advising CIOs and CMOs around the world on how to use cloud computing to transform their businesses. Prior to joining salesforce.com, Mark held a strategic product management role at Grand Central Communications. He has also held roles at Vignette Inc. and LeadTrack Systems. Jonathan Andresen is Director of Product Marketing at Blue Coat Systems, Asia-Pacific. Mr. Andresen has been working in the telecommunications sector since 1996 and relocated to Asia in 2003. Prior to joining Blue Coat Systems, Mr. Andresen held various marketing, strategy and business development management positions in Nortel’s Wireless and Optical Business Units. Mr. Andresen’s career includes positions with Teleglobe, MetroPhotonics and Canada’sDepartment of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Dave Aron is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in the CIO Research group, focusing on IT leadership issues. Mr. Aron is a thought leader on business and IT strategy, leadership, mergers and acquisitions, CEO-CFO-CIO interactions, benefits realization, governance, and enterprise agility. He received Gartner's Analyst of the Year Award for 2009. He has taught business and IT topics at a number of business schools, including London Business School and Oxford University's Said Business School. Tom Austin, vice president, has been a Gartner fellow since 1997. He drives Gartner's research content incubator (the Maverick Program). Andrew Butler is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research. He is the lead analyst for Cisco Systems, authors the Magic Quadrant on blade and modular servers, and is closely involved in Gartner's growing research coverage on compute fabrics and integrated systems.

Michele Caminos is a managing vice president with Gartner Technology and Service Provider research, managing the global team of Imaging and Print Services and Security Services. Previous to this role, Ms. Caminos was a research vice president covering data center transformation. Ms. Caminos has also covered the SMB and channels research area, as well as IT services, within Gartner in the U.S. and Asia/Pacific. David Cearley is a vice president and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and is a leading authority on information technology. John Dixon is a Managing Vice President in Gartner Research, where he is Team Manager for Business Process Management (BPM). Mr. Dixon has 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical IT and telecom industries and has been with Gartner since 2010. Previously, Mr. Dixon was a Gartner Research Director covering BPM, in particular methodologies, value and performance management/metrics.

As a founder of two successful IT management consulting businesses, David has enjoyed breaking new ground in how IT can best serve the business. David has had a hand in growing the IT best practices industry in Australia having trained over 1000 students in ITIL, PRINCE2 and COBIT. As an advisor, David has worked with many of Australia’s “Tier 1” companies and Government agencies. Donna Fitzgerald focuses her research on strategies and approaches for using program and portfolio management as a way to create unique business value. As a Silicon Valley trained former CFO she brings firsthand experience with making the right investments at the right time in order to realize strategic benefits. As the former partner in a program management consulting firm she has also dealt with the complexities of delivering mission critical programs using an adaptive/agile approach. She has over 30 years experience in a mix of industries including high tech, higher education, health care and software development.

Don Free leads Gartner's research on all aspects of core banking, including market trends, systems and architecture. His research exposes progressive trends for developing successful core banking strategy while providing practical guidance to navigate core banking migration complexity. With Gartner for 12 years and possessing more than 30 years of core banking experience, Mr. Free commonly advises CIOs, business leaders and architects globally. He has spoken at many high-profile events in more than 38 countries and has led in-house, board-level workshops.

Aakash Gandhi is the CTO of Infoplex, a leading cloud services provider and subsidiary of Leighton. He directs Infoplex’s product and technology strategy and is responsible for architecture, product development and engineering. As CTO, Aakash pushes Infoplex to stretch beyond its current capabilities, not just in technology, but also in its strategic partnerships and new business models. John E. Girard is a VP and distinguished analyst in Gartner's Info Security and Privacy Research Center. He specializes in business security and privacy solutions for wireless and mobile road warriors, extranet, remote offices and teleworkers.

Pete Goss is the ultimate competitor. He is a sailor, adventurer and former Royal Marine, who has had numerous seafaring adventures. He has competed in seven transatlantic and two round-the-world races. The most recognized of these was the 1996/7 Vendee Globe non-stop single-handed round the world yacht race in his Open 50 yacht 'Aqua Quorum'. It was this race which turned Pete into a national hero for the dramatic rescue of fellow competitor Raphael Dinelli in hurricane-force winds. Pete was awarded the MBE by HM The Queen and the Legion d'Honneur by the French President. Pete’s other sailing exploits include training and leading a previously inexperienced crew of ten through what is generally held to be the toughest yacht race in the world – the British Steel Challenge. The route goes the ‘wrong way’ around the world, against the prevailing winds and currents. Pete proudly led the team aboard Hofbrau into third place. In 1988 he defied convention by finishing second in the Carlsberg single-handed transatlantic race, sailing ‘Cornish Meadow’, a tiny catamaran just 26 feet in length. This was Pete’s first project, but proved that small, lightweight multi-hulls can be viable giant-killing race boats. One of the largest projects for Pete was when he gathered together the team and sponsors that enabled the construction of the world-famous giant catamaran 'Team Philips' – this was a five year project that ended with the sad loss of the boat, but thankfully not the crew, in a freak mid-Atlantic storm in December 2000. Numerous successful businesses were spawned from that project and many people are still employed by them today. Pete returned to offshore racing by competing in the 2006 two-handed Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race with Paul Larsen aboard another small Trimaran, a Seacart 30. ‘Cornwall Playing for Success’ was the ninth boat to cross the finish line from an original fleet of 40. It was only a three-day set back to repair boat damage that prevented them from winning – at one stage they were a day ahead of the rest of the fleet. However, the goal of their entry was to raise money for Cornwall Playing for Success, of which Pete is a founding Trustee; in fact they raised enough to enable CPfS to build a new centre for youth training. More recently, Pete constructed a 37’ wooden Mount’s Bay lugger, which he sailed with family members to Melbourne to recreate the voyage of the smallest migrant vessel ever to make it to Australia, and thereby shine a light on a the bravery of those brave Cornishmen who made that journey more than 150 years previously. Despite being knocked down by a freak southern ocean wave that broke one crewman’s leg they still sailed on, reaching Australia together. An entry in the 2010 Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic ‘Route du Rhum’ aboard a brand new Class 40 racing yacht and numerous trips to the North Pole are just a couple more examples of Pete’s seemingly endless capacity for adventure. Pete’s determination and limitless courage in the face of danger is unsurpassed and has moved people to tackle their own challenges in life. As Pete says: “Life hangs on a very thin thread and the cancer of time is complacency. If you are going to do something, do it now. Tomorrow is too late.” It is from all these experiences that Pete draws when he gives inspirational and motivating talks around the globe. He also lectures in business schools and helps individuals and organisations reach their true potential. Indeed, he has just been made an Associate Fellow of Said Business School Oxford University. Pete is the author of the best-selling book about his yachting adventures – ‘Close to the Wind’, where Pete shares his adventures, thoughts, hardships and philosophy during and throughout the ten years of preparation for the 1996 Vendee Globe. He lives in Cornwall and is married to Tracey, with whom he has three children: Alex, Olivia and Eliot.

Ken brings over 15 years of experience in the technology and management consulting industry, with a myriad of experience on emerging technologies and incubation programs. Notable are a plethora of startup/incubation infrastructure for companies while at Oracle; incubation and rollout of the Business Advisory Platform, Unified Communications and Enterprise Mobility teams at Microsoft and the incubation of Software as a Service (SaaS) practice at Accenture/Avanade. Additionally, Ken has experience in the enterprise cloud computing space, including design and architecture for Data Center Consolidation and Virtualization, Virtual desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Business Application Virtualization. His experience working directly in the field, as well as the corporate program office and operations, make him well rounded across strategy as well as execution.

Bob Hafner is the managing vice president of Gartner Research's Mobile and Client Computing group. Mr. Hafner leads this team, which focuses on mobile devices, mobile applications, client computing hardware, tablets and operating systems. His own research focuses on mobile strategy, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), mobile policy, mobile unified communications, and the blurring of computing and communications. Prior to this position, he managed the Communications Applications group which focuses on IP telephony, unified communications, and all aspects of mobile in the enterprise.

Cameron Haight is a Vice President in Gartner Research. His primary research focus is on the emerging IT philosophy known as DevOps and associated technologies, processes and organizational structures. He has also developed the concept of web-scale IT, which seeks to enable enterprises to develop capabilities typically found only in large cloud services providers, such as Amazon and Google.

Gene Hall joined Gartner, Inc. as chief executive officer in August 2004. Since then, his focus has been on publishing market-leading research, developing differentiated offerings tailored to clients' individual needs and expanding the company's sales capacity and capability. These initiatives have resulted in all-time high levels of revenue, EBITDA and contract value. Hall came to Gartner from ADP, a Fortune 500 global technology and services company with over $7 billion in revenue, where he was a senior executive. As president of Employers' Services, Major Accounts division, Hall headed up a $2 billion human resources and payroll services business, overseeing 8,000 associates. During Hall's tenure, this business accelerated sales to new clients, achieved record client retention and delivered unprecedented quality scores. Concurrently, he led a 1,600-person software development and IT operations organization that introduced several new, high-growth products. Prior to this role, Hall was responsible for technology, strategy and new business development across the company. Before joining ADP, Hall was a director and senior partner with McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consulting firm. In his 16 years there, he focused on developing business strategies for leading technology companies and organizations where technology played a central role in the business. Hall graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and received a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

As National Sales Manager for Ricoh Managed Services, Stuart Hammond is responsible for delivering Professional Services and Business Information Services to Ricoh’s Enterprise and Government clients, including CBA, Westpac Bank, National Australia Bank, IBM, Southbank Institute of Technology, Woolworths, and Whole of Government Managed Print Services. Janelle Hill is a world-renowned expert in business process management (BPM) and its enabling technologies. As a Gartner Analyst, Ms. Hill helps clients apply BPM competencies (such as process modeling, process analysis, process performance measurement, process design and process governance) and technologies to their processes to achieve operational excellence and agility. Marketing, especially for service providers, is one of his special topics. In his more than 40 years in the IT industry, Mr. Jester has worked mainly for major global providers of IT products and services, in roles spanning sales, professional services management, marketing and business management. Geoff Johnson is a research vice president in Gartner, based in Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Johnson covers enterprise communications applications (particularly unified communications). His subject matter expertise is in enterprise networking, negotiating telecoms contracts including mobility, open access networks such as FTTP National Broadband Networks, and telecommunications in the Asia/Pacific region. His responsibilities include providing networking research and personal advisory services for Gartner clients. John Kearney is the Director of Solution Strategy for CA Technologies, Australia and New Zealand. In this role, John is responsible for localising product strategy for the regional market as well as being the point of contact for product management and thought leadership across the technology business units. Dale Kutnick is Senior Vice President. From 2007 to 2013, he was global leader of Gartner Executive Programs, which more than doubled its contract value and dramatically enhanced customer engagement during that period. Andy Kyte is a Vice President and Gartner Fellow in Gartner Research and is a member of the Application Strategy and Governance team. Jim Longwood is a Research Vice President in Gartner Research, where he is part of both the Asia/Pacific and global IT services teams. He is responsible for undertaking research on sourcing best practices, trends and market positioning of external service providers in the Asia/Pacific IT services market, as well as for providing industry analysis and strategic advice for regional Gartner clients and IT sourcing policymakers. Anne Thomas Manes is a VP and distinguished analyst and directs research for the Application Platform Strategies (APS) team in the Gartner for Technology Professionals (GTP) research group. His successes include the official Obama ‘08 iPhone App, as well as two iTunes Staff Favorites: Big Words and Math Cards. The advent of Twitter and other social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, as well as the popularity of text messaging, have made short-form communication an everyday reality. But expressing yourself clearly in short bursts—particularly in the 140-character limit of Twitter—takes special writing skill.

Mr Satterly has served in a variety of roles including developer, engineer, architect and CTO over his 23 year career for mostly Fortune 500 companies. He has been a long time Linux and Open Source tools proponent and user. More recently he was able to revolutionize the way Expedia delivers their core web applications that resulted in improved user experience. At Expedia, he created a highly scalable and flexible Splunk environment and as a result was able to retire 35 other systems. With Splunk, he saved $14M in the first 6 months Splunk was installed and avoided many more $MM in outages. He has presented at many conference globally on a number of topics and continues to contribute to the community for several tools and projects. Eddie has a BS Computer Science from Indiana University.

David Schehr is a Research Director in the Banking and Investment Services vertical of Gartner Industry Advisory Services. Mr. Schehr is based in the United States and manages research covering the alignment of IT and emerging technologies to business strategies in retail financial services. His research provides clients with advice on shifting models for service delivery and technology in retail banking and investment management. This includes coverage of changing consumer demands, alternative and digital channel strategies, shifting business models for consumer financial services and leveraging technology to optimize business, go-to-market and client service strategies. Randy Schilleman spent 12 years in retail management before transitioning into the technology side of retail operations. It is during this period he gained several professional certifications (A+, Network+) while supporting their Unix-based pharmacy systems. Since 2005, Randy has worked at Raymond James Financial in various Service Management related roles supporting a global workforce of over 15,000. Today he is Manager of their Service Management Solutions group. Travers Stow graduated as a physiotherapist in 1981, spending 13 years in private practice specialising in orthopaedics and sports injuries. After completing an MBA in 1994, he made a career transition to corporate management, initially in bureau based mainframe cost accounting and payroll computer systems, before joining Perpetual Trustee Company in 2000 to integrate a newly acquired master trust superannuation fund. In 2004, Travers accepted a role as Group Executive – Retail services with Australian Unity, a 164 year old mutual company operating in financial services, health insurance, general insurance and retirement villages. After completing a number of business transition projects, he added the Group Executive – Business Technology role to his portfolio. In late 2009, Travers moved to Transurban Group as Chief Information Officer, responsible for technology across the Group’s corporate and tolling systems. In late 2011, Travers oversaw the successful completion of a major new tolling system replacement project on Citylink.

Zarko Sumic, Ph.D., is a Vice President and Distinguished Analyst in Gartner, where he provides innovative strategic and operational advice to Gartner energy clients using his extensive IT leadership and business experience.

Gavin Tay is a Research Director in Gartner Research and a member of the Content, Collaboration and Social team. With more than 17 years of industrial experience in the content management, portal and social media arena, his research focuses on the challenges faced by CIOs, business IT management and architect teams in the adoption, governance, migration and integration of these technologies. The story of Pte. Damien Thomlinson, an Australian veteran of the Afghan war, is one that has touched and inspired people around the world. Damien showed an interest in joining the Australian Defence Force from an early age, inspired by his Grandfather, who was also a military man and served his country for many years. For Damien, his dream was always to join the Commandos- one of the most mentally challenging, physically demanding and undeniably dangerous roles in the armed forces. At the age of just 24, Damien became a member of this elite military group. It was while serving in Afghanistan with the 2nd Commando Regiment that Pte. Thomlinson’s life was changed forever. On 3 April 2009 whilst on night patrol in the Tarin Kowt District, South Afghanistan, Damien’s unit drove over an improvised Taliban bomb. Damien suffered horrendous injuries in the explosion, which resulted in both of his legs being amputated. The damage to his body was so severe; it is a miracle he wasn’t killed. Most people could not imagine recovering and moving on from something as debilitating as the loss of two limbs…But Damien isn’t most people and giving up is not in his nature. Testament to his incredible drive and determination, instead of sinking into depression or retreating from the world, Pte. Thomlinson saw the amputation of his legs as just another challenge to be overcome. With no time for self-pity, Damien threw himself into his rehabilitation and set about getting his life back. Following a great deal of commitment and hard work Damien taught himself to walk again in a matter of months.

Eric Thoo is a research director at Gartner with a focus on data management practices and technologies for helping clients formulate insights for action. His primary research coverage is on data integration, and approaches for data warehousing, data quality and governance, and emerging trends concerning the impact of the cloud and software-as-a-service models on data management.

Dr. van Someren has extensive experience in the security industry. Most recently, he served as Chief Security Architect at Juniper Networks, responsible for leading the technology and design direction for the company's Network Security products, as well as promoting Juniper's security solutions to industry and government sectors. Prior to joining Juniper, Dr. van Someren was founder and CTO of the security technology company nCipher Plc. (acquired by Thales in 2008) where he led the research team and directed the technical development. He was also a founder and CTO of ANT Plc, a leading supplier of embedded network software for digital media devices. Van Someren holds a doctorate and First Class degree in computer science from Cambridge University in the UK. He is a fellow of both the Royal Academy of Engineering and the British Computer Society

Andrew Walls is a Research Vice President in Gartner Research, where he specializes in information security practices, tools and markets in social media, enterprise governance, awareness/communications, directories, investigations, managed security services and security program management. Security practices and markets in the Asia/Pacific region are also a focus of his research agenda.

Anne Weatherston is Chief Information Officer and Management Board member at ANZ responsible for the development and maintenance of the infrastructure and technology solutions that support ANZ globally. Prior to joining ANZ in 2010, Anne was Group Chief Information Officer for the Bank of Ireland for four years. In that role she was responsible for the delivery of IT to all Bank of Ireland business units including transformational and operational IT. Anne joined the Bank of Ireland from Abbey/ Santander, where as IT Director she led a major transformation program of the bank’s IT capability both pre and post the acquisition by Santander. Previously, she held various senior positions including Director of UK Business Integration at Gaz de France, as well as Director of Business Strategy, Development and IT for the Student Loans Company in the UK. She has an MBA from the Strathclyde Business School.

Susie Wee is responsible for driving innovation and experience design in Cisco's collaboration products and software services. Previously she served at Hewlett Packard as founding Vice President of the Experience Software Business, and Chief Technology Officer of Client Cloud Services. Susie’s received many awards including Technology Review’s Top 100 Young Innovators, ComputerWorld's Top 40 Innovators under 40, INCITs Technical Excellence, Women In Technology International Hall of Fame, and CNN’s Top Ten Most Influential Women in Technology. She is an IEEE Fellow and has 50+ publications and 40+ patents. Susie received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Zen Wijeyesinghe is based in Sydney Australia and heads up the Northern Region (ACT, NSW, QLD, NT and PNG). Zen has been working in IT industry for over 21 years. Prior to Exinda, he was with Citrix for 5 years and before that, in the Systems Integrator space for over 10 years. Exinda has proven itself to have class leading solutions and Zen is keen to evangelize the many benefits of the solutions, thereby enabling customers to gain far greater control over their networks facilitating a superior experience for the end user base

Alan is a Director and was the original product architect of the Blink Mobility Platform. He is responsible for development, testing, support and education within BlinkMobile. With over 30 years in the computer software industry, Alan was also a founding member and VP of TIBCO through which he has extensive experience in enterprise data architecture and distributed, highly interactive, business solutions. Before TIBCO Alan started and built trading room infrastructure company Teknekron Software Systems around Australia and Asia prior to their purchase by Reuters, and has worked in technical and management roles for Sun Microsystems, Convergent Technologies and Hewlett Packard.

David Willis is a VP and Distinguished Analyst in Gartner Research. He is Chief of Research for Mobility and Communications and runs Gartner's Senior Research Board. Mr. Willis sets the direction and framework for worldwide integrative research across all aspects of mobile computing, mobile devices, networking, and telecommunications equipment and services. He has expertise in the management of mobile computing for large enterprises, including technology selection and policies. He is responsible for research and advisory services in communications planning, metrics, infrastructure and sourcing strategies. He is an advisor in the planning of IP networks for some of the largest enterprise customers in the world, including those in the financial services, government, pharmaceutical, medical, retail and IT outsourcing sectors. As head of Gartner's Senior Research Board, he is responsible for Gartner's major research themes promoted throughout the year, as well as position management and conflict resolution.

Evan Zeng is a Research Director on the Gartner Data Center Research team, where he is a "hybrid" analyst, focusing half-time on TSP vendor research and half-time on end-user research. His research focuses on data center infrastructure and operations, transformation, and modernization. Mr. Zeng joined Gartner in December 2010. His professional experience is wide and includes senior positions in end-user organizations and technology and service provider companies.
